Trying to choose a golf ball for your game can be completely overwhelming because there are so many options to choose from.  Don't worry, we are here to help!  We try to keep golf ball recommendations as simple as possible.  Here are some questions to consider:

  • How important is the price of the golf ball to you?
  • How important is green-side spin to you?
  • How important is the durability of the ball to you?
  • How far do you normally hit your driver?
  • What is your handicap?
  • Do you prefer a softer of firmer feel?

These are all really important factors that will influence the type of ball you should play.

Tour balls like the ProV1/ProV1x, Srixon Z Star/Z Star XV, Callaway Chromesoft/Chromesoft X, TaylorMade TP5/TP5x, Bridgestone B Series are generally made for players with higher swing speeds and will maximize their distance off of the tee.  They also have better covers which will spin more around the greens for maximum control.

Softer golf balls like the Titleist Tour Soft, Srixon Q Star, Bridgestone E Series, Callaway Supersoft, TaylorMade AeroBurner Soft/Project A, Wilson Duo/Duo Spin are generally better for the average player.  They are softer for better feel and they also help reduce side spin which can result in straighter and longer ball flight.
